Women Envision: Walking Through Life Retreat

Join women of the Amesbury-area business & non-profit community for our
WE: Walking Through Life Retreat on Friday, October 21st.

Join a group of local women who have created opportunities for wellness, development, networking, inspiration, and fun. And experience all of this while making downtown Amesbury your playground for this special retreat.

Registration will open at 8:00 a.m., during which guests will be treated to a breakfast buffet at Ristorante Molise. At 9:00 a.m., our day will be kicked off with an inspirational presentation from author Libby DeLana. Attendees will then break out and attend 2 different seminar sessions at different locations in downtown Amesbury.

Attendees will gather back together and be treated to an afternoon lunch and fashion show from our local boutiques and fashion gurus. This will be followed by us separating once-more for two additional seminars.

The day will end with a 3:30 p.m. at Brewery Silvaticus for casual drinks and networking. Each guest will be provided with a copy of Libby Delana's book, Do Walk: Navigate earth, mind and body. Step by step. Libby will be on hand to chat and sign copies.

Tickets for this event are $99 per person and must be booked in advance. The cost includes breakfast, lunch, and some gifts. The full program for October 21st is listed below. Redefining Self Care with Kelly McKora of Anna Jaques Hospital

Kelly McKora is the Wellness Program Coordinator for Anna Jaques Hospital. She will be discussing current ideas about what self-care involves. This will include identifying the unique barriers women face in practicing self-care, such as gender norms, beliefs, and values. This discussion will allow attendees to define what self-care actually means; recognition of needs, boundaries, and safety; and creating a personal mental health/self-care maintenance plan.


Creating Work/Life Balance with Suzanne Zents of True to You Coach

Life is crazy. There always seems to be too much to do and too little time. How do some people manage to get it all done and still have time for the important things like family, friends, and their own selves? Suzanne Zents is a Board Certified Life and Executive Coach who specializes in helping people pursue their passions. For this seminar, Suzanne will bring guests on a deep dive into what it takes to manage time efficiently and effectively; while keeping your priorities straight.


Legal Issues of Starting & Maintaining a Business with Attorney Maureen Pomeroy

Maureen Louise Pomeroy of Pomeroy Law PC will provide attendees with an overview of legal issues related to starting and maintaining a business. She will discuss the due diligence necessary when buying a business, choosing a business name to avoid trademark issues, how to protect personal assets through choosing a legal entity, and issues related to lease agreements and other types of contracts. Maureen is also an employment attorney. She will provide an overview of issues related the difference between independent contractors and employees, and common legal issues related to hiring and terminating employees. She will also address other techniques to avoid costly legal issues when running a business. This will be an interactive session with attendees and she welcomes questions.


Decluttering Tips & Tricks with Corrin Bomberger of Simple Organizing Solutions

Organizing isn’t just a project; it’s a process that needs to be maintained. Corrin Bomberger will be discussing ways to help homeowners create an organizing process so they have the ground work to stay organized.  Everything requires maintenance: cars, relationships, one’s health... and organizing is no different. She will discuss strategies on how to get certain parts of a home, calendar, email accounts, and a “to do” list set up so you get the most out of tangible space and time. Corrin is approaching this seminar from the perspective that we can find ways to make more money, but time and physical space are finite, so let's use what we have to the best of our abilities.


Seminar Session A: Digital Marketing 101 with Nicole Stenclik of Rose PR

Nicole is a PR professional who guides companies and organizations to success. For this seminar, she will be leading attendees through the basic premise of social media platforms, including features worth maximizing, and how to generate content to enhance your personal and/or professional brand. Her presentation will include how to apply these strategies beyond social media, including email marketing, websites, newsletters, and third party media.


Just a Little Healthier™ with Meghan Kinsey of Motivate.® Barre•Cardio•Nutrition

Improving one’s health can create feelings of overwhelm, frustration, and for some, even shame. We might ask ourselves some questions: Where do I start? If I have let it go so long, why bother now? Do I have to do another diet to be healthy? So we may deny, procrastinate, or completely freeze. Meghan Kinsey will lead a discussion to simplify the process of addressing our health. No big moves. No cutting out your favorite foods. No diet dogma. Instead, Meghan will help guests identify how to make small changes that can have a big impact on our lives. Meghan will remind attendees not to think about it as all or nothing; but instead what if we just make one small change today? Becoming "just a little healthier” in the process.


Make & Take with Dena Talbot of Board & Brush Studio

Roll up your sleeves and get to work with Dena Talbot of Board & Brush on one of several distressed, sanded, and pre-stained wood projects. Multiple paint colors, approximately 4 wood designs, and several stencil options will be available so that each attendee can leave with their own, unique piece.


Authentic Networking with Adeline Matton of Accurety, LLC

Networking doesn’t need to feel awkward, disingenuous, and exhausting. Learn to promote yourself and gain valuable perspective on people within your work life community by changing your mindset on what networking can be. Adeline Matton is the owner of a successful real estate company and a leader within the North Shore Realtor® Association. Her work with clients and Realtors® is built on making meaningful connections and building relationships. She will lead this seminar with a conversation about what networking skills are important, sharing tips & tricks, followed by interactive activities that will allow guests to test out strategies that make breaking the ice easier, and building authentic relationships.
