DESCRIPTION:Join women of the Amesbury-area business & non-profit community for our 5th Annual WE: Walking Through Life Retreat on Friday\, October 16th!Join a group of local women who have curated a day of opportunities for networking\, inspiration\, and fun honoring the paths we've traveled and the possibilities ahead.Registration will open at 8am\, at Crave Bistro where guests will be treated to a delicious breakfast buffet prepared by the Water Street Caf  at Crave.At 8:30am\, our day will kick off with keynote speaker\, Debra Michals \, author of She's the Boss\, who will share insights on the evolution of women in entrepreneurship\, leadership and the courage required to embrace change & opportunity.Attendees will then travel to Crane Karate Academy for a self-defense and personal empowerment workshop. Attendees will build confidence\, strength\, and practical skills through an interactive self-defense session focused on personal safety and empowerment.Next\, we'll head to Mill 77 Brewing for a delightful lunch & time for mingling with other attendeesAfter lunch we will welcome our panel of speakers where attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse panel of accomplished women who will share personal stories\, lessons learned\, challenges overcome\, and wisdom gained along their unique paths.And to wrap it all up we will end the day with networking\, hands on craft activities and a few artistic vendors! For registrants interested in helping us provide personal hygiene items to local women in need\, we will be collecting the following items for Our Neighbors Table\; tampons\, pads\, deodorant\, razors\, etc.. Donations will be collected at both breakfast & lunch. Tickets for this event are $99 per member or $119 for non-members and must be booked in advance. The cost includes breakfast\, lunch\, gift bag and more! Looking Back\, Forging Ahead: The Past\, Present\, and Future of Women's Entrepreneurship\nWomen today own more than 40% of all US businesses\, but when did women's interest in business ownership begin\, what have their successes been\, and what does the future look like for today's women entrepreneurs? Dr. Debra Michals\, chair of Humanities at Merrimack College and former business journalist\, will explore the past\, present\, and future of women's entrepreneurship\, drawing on research from her book She's the Boss: The Rise of Women's Entrepreneurship since World War II. In this lively and engaging presentation\, she will share the trailblazers and transformations that paved the way for today's women business owners\, the shoulders we all stand on\, and the challenges and possibilities that lay ahead.
